Urban Plan for Major Development

RED DEVELOPMENT, England
Under Development
Lasi City / ROMANIA
Urban

City of Iasi with a population of c. 320,000 is the second-largest Romanian city. It is the economic, cultural and academic centre of the Romanian region of Moldavia and lies approximately 15km from the border with Moldova in the north-east of the country.

The location and configuration of this development is designed to create both physical and intellectual links with the city and particularly with the technical university campus. Specifically, it is hoped that these buildings will house a range of both local and international businesses that will both benefit from, and provide employment for the technical university graduates and the city as a whole.

The outline proposal seeks to respond to achieve an appropriate density, primarily with a range of 3 or 4 story modern office buildings with a limited number of typologies. These buildings should be designed to a modern central European standard, and have the capacity to be subdivided for multiple tenancies if required. Where possible the design should be modular in nature to both maximize cost efficiency and control quality. The buildings should be designed to best practice European environmental standards.
